Public Information and Education

Increased general awareness of the liver's function in a healthy body is essential to understanding the high price that is paid, in lengthy illness and eventually death, when the liver is damaged by disease.

The Foundation is establishing a variety of professional and public education programs to disseminate current knowledge about the liver and to encourage prevention of certain types of liver diseases.

This program aims to promote better awareness and understanding of liver diseases.
It will be based on an assessment of current materials available, and on the needs of patients and health care professionals.

ALF may develop state chapters to assist in dissemination of information, collaboration with other disease-specific bodies, and contact with prospective donors.
