Collaboration with Other Organisations

Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA).
Australian Liver Foundation (ALF) and Australian Liver Association (ALA) members collaborate closely with the members of the Gastroenterological Society of Australia (GESA), such as on the organisation and presentation of workshops.

The Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP).
Many members of ALF and ALA are not only members of the RACP but attend College scientific meetings, present their research, both clinical and basic, and interact with specialists from most other disciplines, the College being an umbrella organisation encompassing all major medical disciplines.

Australian Society for Medical Research (ASMR) .
Members of ALF and ALA are members of ASMR which is another umbrella organisation with representation from most disciplines, in this case from both basic biomedical science and clinical science. ALF members frequently present at ASMR conferences. Liver disease is a common theme at the major ASMR conference held in November each year in different capital cities.

Other societies.
There is extensive interaction between ALF Board members and other foundations, e.g., the Leukaemia Foundation (blood disorders in liver disease) and the Heart Foundation (cardiac complications of liver cirrhosis).
