Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee
The Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee suggests research that needs to be undertaken and advises on funding distributions. The Committee reports to the Board of Management and is chaired by an independent clinical scientist: (currently Professor Lawrie Powell AC).

It was launched officially in Brisbane on 12 August 2005 at an international symposium on fatty liver disease, attended by most of Australia's liver specialists.
