Long Range Objectives
The major, primary objectives of the Foundation's long-range plan are to:
• Make a major contribution to the development of new knowledge about hepato-biliary
diseases in order to improve methods of diagnosis, treatment, control and
prevention of these diseases and to reduce their physical, social, psychological
and economic
burden;
• Promote collaborative research and education strategies among scientists,
practitioners and educators to maximise their effectiveness, reach and
impact and to reduce
unnecessary duplication of resources;
• Help every individual who suffers from a hepato-biliary disease,
or who might be expected to be at special risk of such a disease, with prompt
access to useful information
about
hepato-biliary diseases.
